One Day, Three Basalt Columns
Royalston, MA · Installed In A Single Day
Front Yard Fountainscape · Triple Basalt Columns · LED Lighting
Who says a transformation like this can't be done in a single day?
Most people would think of adding a tree or a flower bed to their front yard. These homeowners thought outside the box. They wanted something that would complement their farmhouse-style porch, create some interest out front, and give them a reason to linger outside with their favourite drink.
Their inspiration came from close to home. His father has a set of basalt columns outside his own house, and seeing them sparked the idea to bring that same thing to their property.

What Replaced The Empty Space
Instead of looking out at nothing, they now have a triple basalt column fountain sitting in the middle of the front yard.
The sound of trickling water blends into the morning chorus of birds. Bees and other pollinators stop by for a drink. It is the kind of feature that changes how often you actually go outside.

Why It Works
Sometimes it is hard to know what to do with open space. The addition of something both intimate and stately, like natural basalt columns, completely changed the atmosphere of the property.
A once lackluster yard is now alive, welcoming, and connected with nature both day and night.
After Dark
At night the LED lighting turns the fountain into a glowing centrepiece, softly lighting the water as it dances and bounces off the basalt, like the flicker of tea candles after dusk.

A note from Shawn
"Every project teaches us something new. This one reminded me why I got into this business, the moment a homeowner sees their finished feature for the first time is worth every hour of work."
If This Sounds Like You…
This is the one to look at if you have been thinking:
- •"We have an empty patch out front and no idea what to put there."
- •"We want the sound of water without taking on a pond."
- •"We do not want our yard torn up for a week."
A fountainscape is the lowest-commitment way into a water feature. No fish, no pond to manage, and in a case like this one, no excavation and no second day of work.
See it come together.
From bare ground to living water feature.
